Geography of New Zealand

     New Zealand is made up of two islands, North Island and South island. Both islands have mountains, beaches and farmlands. The mountain ranges on the islands take up 2/3rds on the South Islands and 1/5th on the North Island. A main mountain range that would be amazing to visit is Mt. Cook which is also the highest peak in New Zealand. in some of the mountain ranges there are active volcanoes. Don't worry many other tourists visit the various volcanoes leaded buy locals that lived around them all the time. If you think the mountains are boring and the beach is more fun don't worry there is plenty of coast line. Since New Zealand consists of two main islands there are miles and miles of coast line to swim. You have to be careful though because New Zealand is by the South Pole and the oceans by the South Island have glaciers in them. Lastly you can't forget the farm land in New Zealand. Where ever there isn't mountains, beaches, rivers or cities there is the beautiful New Zealand farmland. New Zealnd grows many different crops and has many exotic animals that you can't find anywhere else in the world.    


New Zealand's Climate

New Zealand has a temperate climate but gets subtropical weather in the summer. The seasons are not the same in New Zealand compared to the United States. For New Zealand summer is From December to February. Winter is from June to August. Fall is from March to May. Last, Spring is from September to November. You should Remember that when you planing to vacation, you don't want to back you bag with swim suits and end up sitting on a snowy beach. There is no rainy season in New Zealand but you might get some rainy days because rain fall is spread out through out the year.
No matter what season make sure you pack a verity of different clothes because the weather can change without a warning.
